Stage 6 Thursday 25 Sept: Liques to Tournehem-sur-la-Hem (15km/9.3m)

Another stunning day today. Hans & Lynn headed off after breakfast to drop a car in Tournehem and on their return we all headed into Licques to start today’s hike. Our gite was at about the 6km mark… and excellent point for morning tea. Then on up the hill to Yeuse, across to the ruins of the St Louis Chapel, then down into Guemy and on into Tournehem-sur-la-Hem.

Waiting in our gite this morning

Saint Louis Chapel

Our guide book says Many legends surround the ruins of the 15th-century Chapelle de Saint-Louis. including hints of pagan worship, third-century Roman army encampments and forgotten underground tunnels. The building was reassembled to its current form in 1930, and left intentionally unfinished.
