Stage 8 Saturday 27 Sept: Wisques to Delettes (18 km/11.2m )

I’m running out of superlatives… suffice to say we’ve had another fabulous day. We left Wisques (Abbaye Notre-Dame) again this morning but headed in the “right” direction to Delettes, through a few small towns (all without an open cafe/bar). The highlight today was walking through the numerous, towering wind turbines in the area… spectacular.

Back home, after shopping. Treats from the patisserie… Religieuse au café (Gary) and mini Glands (translation: acorn) for me. Mine was filled with a delicious kirsch flavoured creme patisserie
Around Bomy this evening… that’s our gite behind this little garden
The Bomy Town Hall
War memorial just next to our gite. Note the rooster on top, Google tells us that France’s association with the rooster comes from a play on words: the Latin word gallus means both “Gallic” and “rooster”.
Saint-Vaast Catholic Church, just behind our place
