We took things easy today tidying up last minute details before we head off on our tour early tomorrow. Lynn and Loie went shopping for rugs with a bit of assistance from the locals.
The highlight of the day was lunch at Rick’s Cafe of Casablanca (Humphrey Bogart/Ingrid Bergman) fame. The restaurant is a good reproduction of the cafe from the movie that was actually filmed on a Hollywood set.
We officially start our tour tonight with the welcome dinner.

We enjoyed some great wine (French Chablis) and the nostalgic atmosphere. The food, however, was underwhelming to say the least (Beth thought it was so bad it was hilarious… Fawlty Toweresque) and piano/singer was too loud. “As time goes by” featured prominently as you would expect!

Intrepid Morocco Real Food Adventure
The rest of the group has arrived… Lynn’s other friend, Beth (from Maine via Spain) flew in late this afternoon and Sarah (also from the US) arrived just in time for dinner. Our “food adventure” kicked off at 6pm in our hotel with a briefing from our guide Youssef, then it was down to Les Fleurs for a group dinner.
